The Daughter of Dawn, a 1920s silent film with an all Indian cast, is finally set for a commercial release this year. The cast features about 300 Comanche and Kiowa tribal members. It was filmed in southwestern Oklahoma and was screened at few times after its completion, according to the Associated Press and Wikipedia. But the unique work was almost lost to history until the Oklahoma Historical Society tracked down a copy and acquired it 2007. It's been restored and screened a few times since then and will now be released by Milestone Film.

“We were just so stunned that it existed,” Jeff Moore of the society told the AP. The cast features White Parker and Wanada Parker, who were children of the famed Comanche chief Quanah Parker. Get the Story:
