KUYI, the radio station on the Hopi Reservation in Arizona, is looking to raise $4,000.

The station is owned and operated by The Hopi Foundation, a non-profit based on the reservation. The organization hopes to raise enough money by Arizona Gives Day on April 7.

"Tribal radio is as important as ever to keep in touch with our past, present and future," station manager Richard Davis told The Navajo-Hopi Observer. "As we move through the 21st century, it is essential that we keep pace with the rest of society, while maintaining our Hopi language, culture and strong traditions."

KUYI 88.1 FM went on the air in December 2000.
