Six people have been sentenced in connection with the murder of a young member of the Northern Arapaho Tribe of Wyoming.

Jared Dean Little Whiteman, 21, was reported missing on June 11, 2014. Authorities later discovered that he had already been beaten, stabbed and buried on the Wind River Reservation earlier in the month.

"The body had more than 40 stab wounds," the complaint against three co-defendants stated. "In addition to the more than 40 stab wounds, there was an incision in the throat."

Susan Chippewa, who pleaded guilty to first degree murder and aiding and abetting, was sentenced to 35 years in prison, K2 Radio reported. James Leo Whiteplume was sentenced to 39 years for his role and Byron Spoonhunter was sentenced to 26 years for felony first degree murder.

Three other people -- Garrett Revere Jr., and Will Wallowingbull and Chrissy Big Eagle -- pleaded guilty to being accessories after the fact, K2 reported. They were each sentenced to five years.
