The Hoopa Valley Tribe in northern California is under water restrictions.

The five or six tanks in Hoopa Valley ran dry last week, according to a press release. More than 100 residents of the community went without water completely.

"We're working diligently to address the situation,” Chairman Ryan Jackson told KRCR. “We understand that people in our community going without water is something that nobody, really should ever have to endure."

Jackson attributed the shortage to a number of causes, including firefighting efforts. So residents are being asked to conserve water in order to replenish the tanks.
