It looks like the city of Duluth, Minnesota, is ending one of its legal battles with the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.

In December, a federal judge ruled that the tribe doesn't need the city's permission to submit a land-into-trust application to the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The deadline to appeal the decision passed on Wednesday without action, NNCNOW.com reported.

The tribe wants the one-acre site of the historic Carter Hotel in trust. The BIA has not made a decision on the application.
