The Lytton Band of Pomo Indians will be asking voters in the town of Windsor, California, to approve utility service to its housing site.

Voter approval is required because the 147-acre site is outside of town boundaries. The issue could be on the ballot in June or November, The Santa Rosa Press-Democrat reported.

To sweeten the pot, the tribe is offering to pay for a new aquatic center in the town. The facility is expected to cost between $9 million to $11 million.

The plan is also dependent on approval of the tribe's land-into-trust application. The Bureau of Indian Affairs issued a finding of no significant impact in June 2012 but two years later there's no word of a decision.
