Seneca-Cayuga Tribe suspends committee members for fraud

The Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma has suspended two claims committee members last week for alleged fraud and malfeasance.

The tribal council suspended the two members without pay, The Grove Sun reported. A resolution obtained by the paper said the pair were under "federal investigation."

A police chief with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, however, said he hasn't opened an investigation or received any information from the tribe.

The claims committee handles benefits for tribal members.
