The Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation in North Dakota swore in Chairman Mark Fox on Wednesday. Fox, 52, is the tribe's former tax director. He won election on Tuesday with a vow to strengthen the energy industry on the reservation. "They talk big," attorney and former tribal judge Vance Gillette told the Associated Press. "But we'll see." According to the AP, oil wells on the reservation produce more than 330,000 barrels a day. That accounts for a third of the state's output and it rivals that of Oklahoma.
