A former employee of the Chippewa Cree Tribe of Montana was sentenced to prison for theft. Wilbur Harlan "Huck" Sunchild was a director of the Rocky Boy's Wellness Center. He was found guilty of diverting more than $26,000 from the facility for his own use. Sunchild was sentenced to one year in prison and two years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay restitution of $19,735.77 to the tribe. Tribal criminal cases have put Montana on top a nationwide list of judicial districts with the most government corruption prosecutions. Most have originated from the Chippewa Cree Tribe.
