National Congress of American Indians hosts midyear in Alaska

The National Congress of American Indians is kicking off its mid-year conference today in Alaska.

The event takes place at the Dena‘ina Center in Anchorage. Tribal leaders will hear from state officials, members of Congress and senior Obama administration officials, including Assistant Secretary Kevin Washburn, the head of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and Tony West, the associate attorney general at the Department of Justice.

The conference concludes Wednesday.
