Siletz Tribes plan to hold advisory vote on same-sex marriages
The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians in Oregon plan to hold an advisory vote on same-sex marriages.
The Oregonian reported that the tribal council approved an ordinance to recognize same sex-mariages. But that wasn't the case -- instead, the council sent the issue to the membership.
The move comes after a federal judge in Oregon struck down the state's ban on same-sex marriage. The Coquille Tribe of Oregon already recognizes same-sex marriage.
