Cook Inlet Tribal Council set to launch first Native video game

Never Alone: A forthcoming title from Upper One Games

The Cook Inlet Tribal Council of Alaska will be launching the first Native video game this fall.

Upper One Games, a tribal-owned company, partnered with E-Line Media of New York to develop "Never Alone." The game features an Inupiat girl named Nuna and her companion, an Arctic fox.

"Indigenous people have always had an indigenous way of learning, and we have our Western models that we work within now, but we've always held on to our storytelling and our dancing as a way to pass wisdom and knowledge," Amy Fredeen, the executive vice president of the Cook Inlet Tribal Council and Upper One Games, told CBC News.
