Oklahoma woman charged for near fatal beating of 3-year-old

An Oklahoma woman has been charged with felony child abuse in connection with the near fatal beating of a three-year-old girl.

Lisa Botone told police from the Absentee Shawnee Tribe that someone broke into her home on the day Charlotte Kauley was severely injured. But authorities quickly uncovered inconsistencies in her story and she later admitted that she may have blacked out on the day in question.

Charlotte, who suffers from paralysis on the left side of her body, is the daughter of Mitchell Kauley, who was married to Botone at the time of the March 27, 2013, incident. Charlotte now lives with her mother in Virginia, News 9 reported.
