The graduation ceremony for a public high school in Lakeland, Wisconsin, will feature an honor song. The Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa asked the Lakeland Union High School for the song at the June 8 ceremony. The principal said the request was approved quickly. “Our Lac du Flambeau Tribe acknowledges that there are many nationalities that attend Lakeland Union High School and we appreciate the relationship that has evolved over the years between LUHS and the Lac du Flambeau Tribe,” the tribe said in a letter to the school, The Lakeland Times reported.
