Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona) called on Washington owner Dan Snyder to address the use of a racial slur as his football team's mascot. McCain, a former chairman of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, addressed the controversy on the Dan Patrick Show today. He said Snyder must sit down with tribal leaders to understand why the use of a racial slur is offensive. McCain also said the NFL should take action. So far the organization hasn't done anything to force Snyder to resolve the matter. “I’d say have a dialogue, and then come back to me,” McCain said on the show. “And if the Native Americans are not satisfied, then you ought to consider changing it.” The discussion begins at 14:34 in the clip.
