North Dakota tribe reports $184M in tax revenue from drilling

The Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation of North Dakota is seeing big returns from oil development on the reservation.

Since July 1, 2013, the tribe has taken in $184 million in oil tax revenue. That's more than the amount seen in the prior two years combined.

"That’s how fast we’re moving,” Hall said on Wednesday during the tribe's Oil and Gas Expo, The Jamestown Sun reported.

To address impacts of development, the tribe is investing $265 million over the next few years to improve infrastructure and health services.
