Witness list for Senate Indian Affairs Committee hearing on bills

The Senate Indian Affairs Committee will hold a business meeting and hearing tomorrow.

The committee will vote on three bills during the meeting, which will not be webcast. They are: S.161, the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians Restoration Act; S.1074, the Thomasina E. Jordan Indian Tribes of Virginia Federal Recognition Act; and S.1219, the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Mission Indians Water Rights Settlement Act.

The meeting will be immediately followed by a hearing on five bills -- S. 1474, the Alaska Safe Families and Villages Act; S. 1570, the Indian Health Service Advance Appropriations Act; S.1574, the Indian Employment, Training and Related Services Consolidation Act; S.1622, the Alyce Spotted Bear and Walter Soboleff Commission on Native Children Act; and S.2160, the Native American Children's Safety Act.
