Standing Rock Sioux Tribe prays for students involved in crash

Members of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe are praying for the recovery of five students and two teachers who were injured in a crash in Colorado over the weekend.

The group from the McLaughlin School District was in Colorado for the Denver March Powwow. On their way home, their SUV was involved in a rollover crash.

"It's been a big shock to the community. So a lot of people have been praying and hoping for the best. Hearts are a little sad right now so just hoping for the safety and well-being of the children and staff members," D.J. Two Bears, a tribal spokesperson, told KXMB.

The occupants of the vehicle weren't wearing seat belts, according to news reports. All seven suffered injuries.

One teacher has already been released from the hospital. Two of the students are expected to be released in the coming days.
