Carnel Chamberlain
A member of the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan awaits sentencing for the death of a four-year-old boy. Anthony M. Bennett pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. He admitted that he killed Carnel Chamberlain, burned the boy's body and buried him outside a home on the reservation in June 2012. Bennett faces a sentence of 35 to 40 years in prison. Chamberlain's family supports the plea deal. "We, the immediate family of Carnel Chamberlain, were fully aware and an integral part of the whole process leading up to today’s guilty plea,” Joann Moses, Carnel’s grandmother, told The Bay City Times. “We would like to thank the FBI for their diligence in garnering an outcome that is an end to this horrific nightmare."
