FBI pursues murder charges against man from Meskwaki Tribe

The FBI is pursuing murdering charges against a man from the Meskwaki Tribe of Iowa who is accused of killing his parents.

Gordon Lasley Jr., 25, will face a grand jury proceeding to determine whether there is probably cause for murder charges. Authorities say he killed Gordon Lasley Sr., 60, and Kim Lasley, 57, at their home on the reservation with a machete.

Lasley was initially indicted in state court for the February 5 incident but those charges were dismissed because the crime occurred in Indian Country.
