Nisqually Tribe signs agreement with city for development plans

The Nisqually Tribe and the city of Lacey, Washington, signed an agreement to cooperate on development plans.

The tribe owns about 252 acres within city limits. The tribe hasn't announced plans for the site but the agreement solidifies the two parties' close working relationship.

“It’s about our future together,” Chairwoman Cynthia Iyall said at the signing ceremony, The Olympian reported.

The city recently approved a three-year agreement to house misdemeanor offenders in the tribe's new justice system.
