Diane Humetewa
The Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a confirmation hearing next Tuesday for Diane Humetewa to serve as a federal judge in Arizona. Humetewa is a member of the Hopi Tribe who was the first Native woman to serve as a U.S. Attorney. If she's confirmed by the Senate, she will be the first Native woman in the federal judiciary. The hearing takes place at 10am in Room 226 of the Senate Dirksen Office Building. Committee Notice:
