Indians donated 10,000 turkeys to organizations in southern California as part of its annual Thanksgiving giveaway.
This is the 28th year of the Thanksgiving Outreach program. The tribe has donated 1 million turkeys to needy people and families.
“Morongo’s Thanksgiving Outreach program has helped the community for 28 years and we are excited to know that as of this year, our tribe has helped feed more than one million people in need,” Tom Linton, a tribal council member, said in a
press release.
The organizations that received the turkeys will use them to provide 220,000 Thanksgiving meals this year.
