Keenan Stewart, a young member of the Chickahominy Tribe, is featured in an educational video about the 11 tribes in Virginia. Stewart, a fifth-grade student, answers questions about tribal history and culture in the video, titled "The Virginia Indians: Meet the Tribes." It is part of the Virginia's First People: Past and Present curriculum from the state Department of Education. Despite helping the settlers at Jamestown and signing the earliest treaties, Virginia's tribes lack recognition from the federal government.
