We’re just a little more than two weeks away from the Alaska Federation of Natives 2013 Convention in Fairbanks, and organizers need a little help ensuring the event goes well for the thousands of people who will arrive from across the state. Volunteers can spell success for the Fairbanks convention (Oct. 24-26) and the associated Elders and Youth Conference (Oct. 21-23). That’s important because we want the convention to return to Fairbanks for many years to come. It’s not just an economic boost to the city at the end of tourism season; it’s an unrivaled cultural event that helps connect all corners of Alaska, even if they happen to sit, like Fairbanks, in the center of the state.
