Grand Portage Band cancels hunt that was questioned by state

The Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa has canceled plans for a moose hunt in Minnesota.
The tribe wanted to exercise its treaty rights. But the hunt was opposed by the state, which requested arbitration proceedings.
The cancellation means there will be no hearings.
