Community of Wisconsin will hold another recall election for President Robert Chicks.
Tribal members voted 224 to 128 in April to remove Chicks from office. But he challenged the recall process and said he wasn't presented with notice of the petition or given a chance to state his position.
The tribe's court agreed and ordered a new election,
according to a press release from the tribe. The date hasn't been set but it's expected to occur no later than August 30.
The recall effort began after Chicks was arrested in connection with a traffic citation off the reservation. He allegedly used his tribal credit card to post $300 bond and his his identity from the officer.
Chicks has pleaded not guilty to charges of operating without a license, obstructing an officer, theft and bail jumping. He is due to go to trial in October, The Shawano Leader reported.
