Coeur d'Alene man to make grand entry at Julyamsh powwow

A member of the Coeur d'Alene Tribe of Idaho who was adopted in his youth will be making his first trip to the Julyamsh powwow this weekend.

Dusty Hanks, 37, has never attended the annual event. But he will be arriving in a big way -- he's going to sky dive into the powwow grounds on Saturday evening.

"I thought that it would be neat to jump into this big event," Hanks told The Coeur d'Alene Press.

Hanks, who helped set two world records for sky diving, hopes the powwow will be educational for himself and his family.
