Authorities in Peru are investigating the murders of eight men whose deaths have been blamed on the
Ashaninka Tribe.
The men were killed while trying to settle in an area of the Amazon jungle that is home to the tribe. Media reports speculated that the victims were illegal loggers or drug traffickers, according to the Associated Press.
Relatives ventured to the region to retrieve the bodies, the AP said. Two men survived the attack and apparently said members of the tribe used shotguns to kill the men.
