Crow Tribe locates employee who had been target of search

The Crow Tribe of Montana called off a search for a wildlife ranger after the man was located on the reservation on Wednesday.

The ranger reportedly discharged a firearm out of his tribal vehicle and was considered armed and dangerous. The vehicle was later found abandoned on the reservation as tribal, local and Bureau of Indian Affairs authorities searched for him.

The man, whose name was not reported to the local media, was located but the tribe won't say what will happen to him.

"He has no known history of violence and has worked on many safety efforts with the Crow Tribe," Chairman Darrin Old Coyote told KTVQ in a statement.
