Chukchansi Tribe requests zoning change for housing project
Thursday, July 18, 2013
The Picayune Rancheria of the
Chukchansi Indians in California needs a zoning change for a housing development.
The tribe plans 88 units in five phases. The site is in Madera County on land that isn't held in trust.
The county's planning department issued a draft report that said the project won't have a significant impact on the environment. A public hearing will be held August 6.
The tribe will use money from the Department of Housing and Urban Development to fund the project.
