A Native woman from British Columbia swam 32 miles over the weekend to
raise funds for cancer research.
Dayna McKay, 44, swam from the Prince Rupert harbor to the
Lax-Kw'alaams First Nation. The trip took 27 hours, CBC News reported.
"I know it's a big challenge, and I've never heard of anybody swimming from their village to another city and dedicating it to someone they really care for," McKay told CBC of her decision to swim in honor of her uncle, who is battling cancer.
Last year, McKay made the same 32-mile swim, except in the opposite direction.
