Mark Trahant, a member of the
Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, will serve as the 20th Atwood Chair of Journalism at the
University of Alaska Anchorage.
Trahant, who currently operates
Trahant Reports and whose work is featured in media outlets across the country, will teach courses to a new generation of journalists.
“This is an exciting time for a young person to begin a career in journalism today,” Trahant said in a press release. “I look forward to working with the students at the University of Alaska Anchorage to help shape that future."
Trahant has embraced Facebook, Twitter and other Internet tools in his reporting efforts.
