Nooksack man pleads guilty over murder of Sauk-Suiattle man

Levin Eugene Charles, a member of the Nooksack Tribe of Washington, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

Charles, 26, admitted that he beat Kenneth Joseph, 68, who was a member of the Sauk-Suiattle Tribe, with a baseball bat and an axe. The crime occurred at Joseph's home on the Lummi Nation on October 23, 2012.

Charles will be sentenced on August 2. He is expected to receive between 22 and 27 years in federal prison.
