CRITFC chair to testify at House hearing on species protection

Kathryn Brigham, the chairwoman of the Columbia River Intertribal Fish Commission, will testify at at House hearing this morning on species protection.

Brigham is a member of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation in Oregon. She is one of several witnesses at the hearing before the House Natural Resources Committee.

"Many states, tribes and local communities are effectively implementing conservation efforts to help species," the committee said on its website.

The hearing, "Defining Species Conservation Success: Tribal, State and Local Stewardship vs. Federal Courtroom Battles and Sue-and-Settle Practices," takes place at 10am in Room 1324 of the Longworth House Office Building. It will be webcast.
