Indian youth program suspended with sequestration of budget

The Northwest Montana Native Youth Conservation Corps has been suspended due to the sequestration of the federal budget.
The program has put about 50 Native youth to work in environmental and natural resource positions over the past three years. But the program has been canceled for the summer.
The
Confederated Salish Kootenai Tribes
and
Salish Kootenai College
were partners with the
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
on the program.
