Inspired by the Idle No More movement, a group of Native youth is walking more than 1,200 miles from Manitoba to Ottawa. The Youth for Lakes group wants to see Bill C-45 overturned. The bill was described as a budget measure but Native leaders say it violates their aboriginal rights and treaty rights. “Our future is in jeopardy through these bills. They are destroying our waters, destroying our natural resources,” organizer Ben Raven told CBC News. The group will take 45 days to reach Ottawa. Get the Story:
