Pawnee Nation reports uses for $4.4M trust fund settlement

The Pawnee Nation of
Oklahoma has provided an update on how it is spending a $4.42 million trust fund settlement.
The tribe already distributed $2 million in per capita payments to 3,247 members.
Another $400,000 went to the Native American Rights Fund,
which represented the tribe.
An additional $1.16 million has gone to various tribal programs and projects, bringing the total expenditures to around $3.56 million.
A committee is considering requests on ways to use the remainder.
The tribe provided the update in response to a request from the
Office of Inspector General at the Interior Department.
The tribe said "disgruntled" members made a "false report" to the OIG.
