Hualapai Tribe takes control of another business on reservation

The Hualapai Tribe of Arizona has taken over another business on the reservation.

The tribe took control of Hualapai Ranch, an "Old West" town with cabin, on February 1. Tribal leaders said non-Indian operator Jim Brown was in violation of an agreement to maintain and develop the property.

“I love the tribe,” Brown told The Arizona Republic. “They’ve had some incredible leadership and vision (in the past). Our issue today is leadership changes.”

The tribe took over another business, Grand Canyon Skywalk, on similar grounds. The non-Indian operator, David Jin, has won a $28.5 million judgment against the tribe.
