Hualapai Tribe to appeal decision in $28.5M business dispute

The Hualapai Tribe of Arizona will take a business dispute to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

A federal judge ruled that the tribe must pay a $28.5 million arbitration award to the non-Indian developer of the Grand Canyon Skywalk, a popular tourist attraction. But the tribe says David Jin failed to live up to his end of the deal.

Jin previously the jurisdiction of the tribe's court while seeking arbitration. His attorneys have suggested they will seek $277 million from the tribe as a result of the dispute.

The tribe's Sa' Nyu Wa corporation is managing the Skywalk.
