The
Navajo Nation Council re-elected speaker Johnny Naize to second term on Monday.
Naize faced four challengers. After a run-off, he defeated LoRenzo Bates by a vote of 13-11.
“I am pleased with the outcome of the election,” Speaker Naize said in a press release. “I have every intention of delivering on my platform by continuing to support the Council and simultaneously working with the President.”
The vote opened the 22nd session of the Navajo Nation Council.
