Bad River Band continues battle against big mine by reservation

The Bad River Band of the Lake Superior Tribe of Chippewa Indians continues to speak out against a proposed mine near its reservation in Wisconsin.

Chairman Mike Wiggins Jr. called for rock samples from the iron ore mine to be made public. The tribe believes the mine will pollute the river that runs through the reservation.

Gogebic Taconite is proposing the $1.5 billion mine. Gov. Scott Walker (R) supports the project.
