Navajo Nation charges parents after son found dead in the snow

The Navajo Nation has laid child endangerment charges against a couple whose eight-year-old son was found dead in the snow a day after Christmas.

Tribal authorities say mother Yolanda Henio and stepfather Keith Comosona were intoxicated when Tomas Jay Henio went missing. The boy's body was found face down in the snow on December 26 and his parents believe he was mauled to death by dogs.

Henio and Comosona were arrested on December 27 and their three other children were taken into tribal custody. The FBI, meanwhile, continues to investigate and isn't certain that the boy was killed by dogs.

The incident occurred on the Ramah portion of the reservation in New Mexico.
