Wisconsin Ojibwe tribes stir controversy with night deer hunt

Ojibwe tribes in Wisconsin are generating controversy with a proposal to hunt deer at night.

Tribes retain off-reservation hunting rights under their treaties. But the state has gone to court to block the hunt, claiming it will be unsafe.

The Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission, which regulates tribal hunting, has yet to issue any permits, a spokesperson said.
