Sioux tribes raise $7M for purchase of sacred Black Hills place

The Rosebud Sioux Tribe and other tribes of the Sioux Nation have raised $7 million towards the purchase of a sacred site in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

The Rosebud Sioux Tribe already made an $900,000 earnest payment to buy Pe’ Sla. A total of $9 million is needed by November 30 and actors, musicians and celebrities like Sean "P. Diddy" Combs and Bette Midler are urging the public to donate.

The Rosebud Sioux Tribe plans to submit a land-into-trust application for the site once it's purchased. About 2,000 acres are being sold.
