2nd Circuit takes up Onondaga Nation land claim on October 12

The 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments next week in the The Onondaga Nation land claim.

In 2005, the tribe laid claim to about 4,000 square miles, including the entire city of Syracuse. A federal judge dismissed the case in September 2010, citing decisions by the 2nd Circuit that killed other New York tribal claims.

The hearing takes place Friday, October 12 at the New York Law School in Manhattan. It's the second case on the calendar for the 10am session
