Federal charges added in case of $1M theft from Yurok Tribe

The primary suspect in the theft of nearly $1 million from the Yurok Tribe of California is now facing federal charges.

Roland Raymond, 49, was a forestry director for the tribe. He is alleged to have conspired with two biologists to steal money from a tribal wildlife preservation program.

Raymond was charged by the state in February. But since the money for the program came from the Bureau of Indian Affairs, he's being accused of embezzlement.
