Senate Indian Affairs Committee's hearing on federal recognition

The Senate Indian Affairs Committee is holding a hearing this Thursday on federal recognition.

The hearing comes after Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska) chastised the Obama administration for not sending anyone to testify before the House Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs on June 27. This time, the Bureau of Indian Affairs is sending a mid-level official to discuss federal recognition issues.

The hearing takes place at 2:15pm in Room 628 of the Senate Dirksen Office Building. The witness list follows:
