Miccosukee Tribe accuses ex-chair, Billy Cypress, of stealing $26M

The Miccosukee Tribe of Florida filed a lawsuit against former chairman Billy Cypress, accusing him of stealing $26 million.

The lawsuit says Cypress conspired with others -- including two of the tribe's former attorneys and two former tribal executives -- to steal the money. He allegedly used a tribal credit card on $11.5 million in withdrawals from casino ATMs, $4 million in jewelry and personal items and $4 million in real estate.

The lawsuit was filed in federal court. It's separate from ones that the tribe filed against law firms owned by two former attorneys.
