Oneida Nation employees oppose dismissal of local attorney suit

Two Oneida Nation employees are opposing the dismissal of a lawsuit involving the attorney for Madison County, New York.

The employees say John Campanie was paid twice for fighting the tribe's land claim -- once in his official position as the county attorney and again through Nixon Peabody, the law firm that represented the county in the land claim.

Campanie has repaid some of the money but the employees say that doesn't address the fact that he benefited from the double payments as far back as 1998.
